What style of church is the Starkville Church of Christ?

Starkville is a mix of the traditional and contemporary. We sing many of the traditional songs that are familiar to members and most of our visitors. We also sing current popular praise songs. We sing a cappella. Paul gives encouragement to the early Christians to "speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16). As did the early Christians, we simply lift our hearts to the Lord and encourage one another through our song service.

We are led in heart-felt prayers, partake of the Lord's Supper each Lord's Day, and are presented with the power of God's Word.

Those involved in leading our assemblies seek to present God's message, whether through song, prayer, or preaching, in a powerful way that is meaningful, truthful, and encouraging. Our desire each Lord's Day is to have a worship that allows everyone to draw nearer to God and his family.

Our style on Sunday morning is semi-casual. On any given Sunday, you'll see the spectrum from dress suits to casual slacks and shirts.  We only desire to dress in a modest way that allows us to demonstrate respect for God and others.
