Welcome to the Children's Ministry
A Whole Lot of Fun!

 

All of us can remember our childhood.  It’s a time to enjoy life and smile often.  At the Starkville Church of Christ we love and care about kids.  In fact, from our infants to our sixth graders we reach out to some 75 kids.  Each Sunday morning during the church service we focus on providing a safe, friendly, learning environment for the children.  We minister to our kids through our Bible classes, Children's Worship Training, KICS (Kids in Christ's Service), and our monthly/seasonal activities.  It’s a place especially for kids – and about kids.

  

Sunday Classes
These Bible classes serve to build foundational teachings that will help children discover the love of God through Jesus Christ. Bible stories, activities, crafts, videos, memorization and repetition are some of the tools used to teach the children. Classes available are: Infants through 6th Grade.

 

Midweek Classes (Wednesday Evening)
This is an active program that teaches the children to apply the Bible to their daily life experiences. The creative teaching incorporates crafts and object lessons to demonstrate Biblical principles. Classes are available for those 3 years old through 6th Grade. A nursery is also provided for infants through 2 years of age.

 

Nursery
We are happy to provide a for children ages newborn to 3 1/2 years of age during both of our assemblies on Sunday as well as during Bible Class on Wednesday evening.  Our aim is to give parents a place to leave their babies and toddlers so that they may worship without distraction knowing that their children are being lovingly cared for.  The children participate in different activities including songs, and a Bible lesson/story.  We maintain a separate quieter area for babies under the age of one.  We are typically staffed with two adults for the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. service. 

 

Children's Worship Training

The mission of the CWT is to train children ages 2 to 5 to worship with the congegation in a Biblical manner. The vision of the ministry is to: teach  children the purpose of worship, elements of worship, and worship  in a  manner pleasing to God; be patterned after congregational worship; assist parents in teaching their children the proper way  to  worship  God;  realize  benefits  of  parents and  children  worshipping  together; encourage parents to reinforce the principles learned; and imprint children with the pattern of the parents and children worshipping together in a manner acceptable and pleasing to God.

 

Kids in Christ's Service

KICS ...........meets the first Sunday of every month from 12-3p.m. in our Activity Center. This exciting time is for children from 4 years old through the 6th grade. Lunch is provided and activities include games, crafts, fun and fellowship. 

 

“Vacation Bible School”

This is a fun interactive learning experience that allows both children and adults to experience the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of Bible Times. Each summer we transform parts of our facility to reflect our theme for the week.


Our VBS is complete with craft booths and workers dressed in 1st century costumes.


Join us for this event and participate in hand-on learning experiences. Our VBS is usually held the last full week of June.   

 

 


Summer Camp
Our camp is held at Sardis Lake Christian Camp in.... This week provides a safe and spiritual camp for our preteens (3rd-6th graders) thru high school age (7th-12th graders). Education and fellowship activities include: Bible study, devotionals, group building events, recreation, arts and crafts, camp fires, swimming, and other exciting and spiritually uplifting events.
